For a lot of investors, that's a worthwhile trade-off.

As others mentioned, the regulatory requirements, licensing and etc. do not make it worthwhile. 

Is it worthwhile to get a lawyer involved?

Was it challenging or relatively straightforward, and was it ultimately worthwhile?
