@Brian Gibbons,I agree you will have shade tree lawyer who is waiting in the wings to help the uneducated home owners when the lawyers say I can get you a u-haul full of money, and the home owner's eyes will light up like a used sear's Roebuck pinball machine and now when you go to court, and the judge will make the decision if the home owner gets anything or gets put into the street.

I use to live on the south shore (Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu) and au centre-ville (rue st-denis) many, many years ago.

People get to wear shoes in their homes, walk to their cars without being harassed, and even occassionally get to have sex, without having to live in fear.

In my experience, I found out that they had a criminal background, previous evictions, sex offender records, and generally they try to do a power play to establish control over the landlord/rent collector.

If you decide to tell the lender, you have a subject 2 that will give the lender more power to do a due on sale clause, and then you know what you need to do is get a u haul.Joe Gore

I require adequate income proven by paystubs, plus I check the sex offender registry and run a criminal background check. 

You may be able to check if they appear in any public registries such as a list of sex offenders. 

Unfortunately, not all the illegals are good hearted people with good intentions and many are cartels that traffic drugs and sex, gangs, spies, terrorists, etc.
