The only way I could completely protect myself against unlawful discrimination would be to apply to houses and say there’s no pets then request accommodation before signing the lease.

We advised they would need to sue us and let court settle so what they did is they held us hostage and were taking money from our other entities (which my attorney advised them was unlawful).

Gov't officials basically caused the housing shortage and now want to punish the homeowner/investor. 

I would have a talk with the guy and let him know that they are not welcome back and that he will be the one punished if they return.....

Unlawful Detainer?

To punish or shamed ambitious people  could lead to more people simply giving up as well.

I am the landlord and I filed an unlawful detainer.

If you are filing eviction because of unlawful holdover - which is what this sounds like - the CDC doesn't apply.

There's no extra CA punishment for that, but you and your properties are potentially exposed to legal risks, so you might lose the properties if things go wrong.
