As every year there is more people in the U.S. then the year before, if the $ supply stayed static, it would mean the existing $ supply get's split by more hands, and that would cause a DEFLATIONAYRY event in the $supply, which would cause restriction in access too $, slowing economic activity and, cause INFLATION to the cost of $, resulting in INFLATION to all items due to this restriction, from simple demand-supply relationship.
