Unless you believe in the location, most likely, I will try to sell it and cut my losses. 

It is usually fairly cut and dried.

They do all the work and then they take a cut.

But single economy rolls from Aldi didn't cut it for us that one time.

In each instance, fault was on person B (Yourself in this scenario) and NOT on person A who the tree trunk was on there property but limbs overhanging neighbors, AS LONG AS they had readily allowed and made no conflict to person B cutting out/down whatever was projecting onto there property line. 

A huge number of properties we have looked at would have issues on this front.It can lead to an opportunity to improve the value of a property if you can buy it with an illegal area, get that area legalised and then sell on with a higher value that the bank would lend against, but it's not clear cut and it seems though that there are almost two levels of 'legalisation' - we were able to register all of the annex on the plans and could fully incorporate a portion of it but there is another portion that is too close to the back boundary wall that should only be used for things like storage and not ever for habitation. 2) During the purchase process be careful, amongst other issues with this property we had the situation where the seller's lawyer was not actually a lawyer (having been struck off).

You can keep it under control a little by keeping the grass constantly cut and nothing laying around the house on the ground..

Many of the entities involved in this line of investment are cut throat and liars to the core.

They're probably fine with you paying for additional marketing as long as they aren't cut out of the deal.
