Collectively we've been sold an "american dream" that has been shaped by a surplus of land, relatively low population levels, racism, cheap financing, and automobiles.

And so they decided, for example:- off-the-shelf software is going to last 3 years- computers, automobiles and appliances are going to last 5 years- construction equipment and office furniture is going to last 7 years- parking lots and fences are going to last 15 years- residential building, both houses and apartments, are going to last 27.5 years- commercial building are going to last 39 yearsDon't try to make sense out of these weird decisions.

Of all the MASSIVE advents of the 20th century; rockets, jet engine, harnessing nuclear energy, hell harnessing energy and electricity itself, automobiles, REFRIGERATION!

Take another industry....say oil production..... automobile production..... widget manufacturing... whatever..... and have a bunch of separate companies pool their data and ALL of them decide that if they ALL increase their prices,.... limit their supply....... then they ALL profit since they set the market for their product.

With a plant that large in our backyard, we’re also set up with one of the most stable grids in the nation, which is good news seeing how fast the auto industry is embracing electric automobiles.  

California's greatest solar resources are in the state's southeastern deserts where all of its solar thermal facilities and most of its largest solar PV plants are located.Maybe if it’s gets cold enough you’d be willing to trade them some of your water for heat and go-go juice for your planes, trains and automobiles.

@Traci Sherman, the Alabama Abandoned Motor Vehicle Act was originally passed to protect automobile repair shops, but has been expanded so that landlords may also take advantage of it.
