I was more looking for training on how to do book keeping, and maintaining a functioning budget. something that teaches you to be able to identify where every penny of your money is either coming in or going out.There is always the chance that I'm overthinking it but I don't think so lol.

This is where the practice likely came about is that it was easier to keep the SD and call it even rather than go through the bookkeeping to come to the same answer.

Crazy,,, you need a better grasp of accounting... any payment goes towards arrears.. so any rent that you credited towards June should have been towards May's balance..Simply give them another pay or quit,, NOT 30 day's it's your state landlord laws you should check.. but 3 days is the usual.. if no payment you file usually by the 7th for eviction.They have you wrapped around their pinkie and you need to get a better grip and take charge of your bookkeeping methods and confronting people that owe you money..

This did a lot of things: I increased my cash flow $300, that is a full extra payment a year, made book keeping easier because it a dollar/ dollar credit, and my people love me because we are able to get them financed at zero percent because they had such a great application.
