I don't really feel like i'm losing money on weekends if I'm not working, as i'll supplement downtime with something else (family time, working on house projects, check on rehabs i'm working on, etc). 

I worked 35 years in corporate to earn a pension, purchased rental income properties while I worked to supplement a early retirement reduced pension.

In many parts of the country AC is not needed in a basement and you could use supplemental heat sources
