Just look at so many of the comments in this post, espousing that the economic system is so simplistic as printing $ = bad, GDP down = depression..... these are persons who are clearly still at the "finger paint" understanding level of Keynesian Economics. 

As a result, this is putting immense stress on her and the overall relationship.I called my dad the other day asking about what his plans were for the holidays and he told me he was depressed.

I did know that in 2014 we were going into a small depression, and I intended to be in good shape to weather it, so I stayed cautious. 

Fortunately I like my teaching job anyway.I'm not trying to scare or depress anyone, just expressing caution.Suzanne

@Pete Barrow when we hit another 10 year depression where unemployment is 30% and 80% of the value of all the publicly traded corporations in America is wiped off the board over the first three years.....going into foreclosure on 2 properties is going to be the least of my problems.

As a result I bought it for a very low price (all these were purchased approximated 65% below the previous purchase price - this was the great real estate depression in Phoenix, Miami and Las Vegas).

If rents are depressed in your area, can you get enough rent to cover the cost and still make a satisfactory profit?

I think the neighborhood will look fairly different in 2025, but a depression could delay progress.
