well guys, I think it's unanimous.

It seems unanimous that renting to friends is a lose/lose situation!

However, I'm not sure this is likely to pass since according to the Oregonian article it requires a unanimous vote.

@Max James yes, sounds like Colorado Springs has been the unanimous helping hint.

However, having a CA agreement can have significant benefits in your case to govern possible disagreements or future issues with your friends such as who can transfer your ownership interest, what if one person wants out and the others want to stay, what if the entity needs money but only one party can provide funds, what sorts of decisions require unanimous agreement and which can only one person decide, what dollar amounts require two signatures on a check versus one signature, etc. 

I'm definitely going with a duplex or better, I plan on attending as many open houses as I can until I feel my cash reserves are at a point where i'd be willing to pull the trigger.And it looks like Rich Dad, Poor Dad by unanimous decision, will be my first read.Seeya around!

The answer was a unanimous NO.

As everyone here has unanimously stated-- it's about sacrifice, hard work and risk!  

So I'd argue that you can capitalize on this situation because home prices will not unanimously rise instantly.
