I've bought about a half-dozen REOs in the past year for LESS than my original bid...Basically, I put in an offer, got rejected, waited for the price to drop, put in a lower offer, got rejected, blah, blah, blah, until finally I put in an offer that was accepted...each time LESS than the original offer...I've purchased multiple REOs for nearly $20K less than my original bid on the same house in the same condition...And only once did a bank come back to me to ask if I was willing to resubmit my original bid before dropping the price...

Hi Dan-I would recommend the collaboration of Strategies and principles by ancient Taoist/Zen masters in 'The Way of Leadership' read by Thomas Cleary- it's an amazing audiobook on the "Timeless Strategies for Success from Zen and Taoist Masters."

This gets into the realm of personal finance, which despite being different for everyone, still has some timeless principles. generally, stretching to buy a car that takes enough cash to make you think twice about it is not ideal for growing wealth and reaching financial independence.

It is timeless.

All of this equals less time, less work, and less stress if your buildings are in decent shape.
