Now if you followed the news you heard about the riots , things got better when the cops were charged ,  we will be in a calm before the storm , when the trial gets under way and the outcome is not what the protesters want , look out .

Is there any way I can protest my property?

If they protest it then except the application (with recording fees) and deny them for what ever reason.  

Here in Texas, the biggest unpredictable for CAM is property taxes  (approx. 3% of market value) and while we protest using our consultants each year, the reality is that it can sometimes go up 2-3 times .

Marcus Auerbach Where I live you have to have an itemized statement showing everything that you deduct from the security deposit or else the tenant can protest it. 

I bought a distressed property, so naturally protested the value as soon as the house was mine. 

I'm planning to protest but not sure if I should do it alone or hire a company ?

Additionally, raising rent, shopping around for cheaper, but appropriate insurance as well as potentially protesting your tax assessed value could help.
