Unless you are buying land and water rights on a Ted Turner scale (or maybe somewhat less than that) there probably isn't much opportunity to make money buying water rights.Just my $0.02. 

@Ryan Jackson, I'm capped out at E-6 due to manning, and losing my airframe soon (new jet coming eliminates the Flight Engineer position), so big changes are coming for me regardless of whether I want them.I'm coming to the conclusion that nothing will change until I pick the right 6 numbers on a Lotto ticket, or I pack up and move.Again, appreciate the welcome.

So, with the thin margins between the already low, low interest rates in the market today, it rarely ever makes sense to pay points to buy the ate down, when you factor in the potential that you are going to refinance that mortgage anyway at some point before you get to your break-even point for the cost of the discount points.
