I'm a patent attorney in Midtown, and we do a lot of patent prosecution work for local tech companies in the southeast. 

So my question for you all is what should I focus on here in Southeast Louisiana?

Now, we have a nice little portfolio throughout the southeast and we don't utilize a property manager for any of our properties.  

Only getting to that leverage in high cap areas of the country like the south east. 

The southeast in general is still very much a sellers market. 

My family owns a nice lot, about 1 acre, along the major highway in my area (Southeast Iowa).In the future, I plan to split the lot and build two new homes.

I live in Racine and am in a southeast Wisconsin market that, right now, is overheated with FoxConn hype.

ABOUT ME:  I am a 40 year old new investor from New Orleans, LA and I currently reside in the South Bay area of California, about 30 minutes southeast of LAX and south of downtown Los Angeles, and about 15 minutes west of Long Beach, CA. 

It would be a different story if you lived in California or New York, given the real estate prices nearby to those metros, but in the southeast you have many more options.
