The lady has not be reimbursed.Two days ago I received a call from a neighboring tenant who reported "Kathy's" dog was being left in the apartment for 12+hours at a time and the smell of dog feces in the common hallway was so bad it was unbearable. 

Not ideal, but not unbearable...not sure if that warrants a short sale or not.

I have been in the unit for 3 months and it is unbearable to live in during these harsh winter days/nights.

During the day the upstairs was unbearable , but in the evening you would close the downstairs and open bedroom windows , and the convection principle would still work .

But all I have to do is move 15 minutes down the road to be in ID once WA becomes too unbearable.

With that said I don't even have A/C in some of my units, but that may be unbearable for someone in Texas.

So it is not that unbearable and I understand replacing the roof is costly and if the owner wants to do it, it is actually not a bad thing. 

Bryanna Pavlish I was in the same situation a couple of years back...had been working for lumber yard that paid me well enough but felt like I had hit a dead end and the monotony was almost unbearable...

While I do think you'll see some nice appreciation in the long run, the traffic is simply unbearable if you have to commute to Portland everyday.
