Those who had luck getting work paid most of it to the company because of fees and others say it’s a scam.

I wouldn't call them scams.

Sadly, on BiggerPockets, some are quick to label companies as scams without real experience.

We find that Craigslist is full of scams and that FB has some scams.

I understand there is a cost to have it burned down. the home would have to be prepped to to meet the requirements for permitting.

My hope is I can gain their trust as a property manager and eventually be the one they turn to to sell later on or refer for business in the future.

It's always a scam.

Just because a technique for acquiring or earning money is popularized by gurus and practiced unethically by the gurus students does not mean that the technique itself is a scam, unethical, immoral, or that the participants aren’t honest.   

By recognizing the signs and implementing effective preventative measures, landlords and property managers can protect themselves from potential scams.
