If you decide to keep her as a tenant, have you considered talking to her about an air purifier/ odor eliminator?  

Long term food storage is always a good idea along with a good water purifier.

i.e. farming, purifying water, making electricity, clothing ect...

And asking how to build two stick deadfall trap on day one is not the right question at the right time…not as important as marking your starting point, finding a source of water, purifying it and building a shelter.

I mentioned it to my coworker who recommended Iuse an air purifier called "Lightning Air."

I have a fix it type of personality, make sure it's not just the smell of the storage space (the tenant before was there for a few years and stored her stuff there and I don't think was in that space hardly ever) , talk to the neighbors,  air purifier, those type of things.
