Some banks and lenders will cut you off at 6-7 even if your DTI is below the normal percentage.

Normally the escrow agent will want mutual sign off even if its clear the contract terms indicate one party should be awarded the escrow funds.

I would just cap it generously to only catch abusers and figure the normal running costs in your rent. 

Is it for a shorter length term than the normal 30 yr?

So if I understand, you would get a loan the normal way and then the bank trust is an extra fee that comes along with owning the property in Mexico?
