Some people define the Catskills as the four rural counties west of the Hudson River in SE New York, Green, Ulster, Sullivan and Delaware.

I wasn’t sure how that would all work considering I wasn’t taking on debt per se, but there is indeed a promise to make payments on the mortgage.

Markets like SE USA (think rural Georgia) still offer multifamily cap rates in the 7-8% range, especially on smaller deals (12-24 units).

I didn’t have a pre-approval amount per se, I just knew that I didn’t have to worry about funding for anything under maybe half a million and my typical purchase and rehab was in the 150 to 250 range.

Since I am most familiar with SE Ohio, I plan to start my search in Perry, Vinton, Hocking, Athens, Meigs, and Jackson counties, if you have any contacts in the area or deal with properties yourself in this niche market. 

Amarillo isn't a destination per se, but a tremendous amount of people come through here every day on Interstate 40 - about 100K cars per day.
