The house is a 1990 Habitat for Humanity build and when I poked my head up in the attic, I was surprised to see that the whole structure above the ceiling is steel construction.

Don't just learn about Real Estate, also learn about construction - go to Home Depot every Saturday and take their tiling and painting classes (for free), volunteer on a Habitat for Humanity jobsite to do cleanup and just pay attention and ask questions.

For the cheaper house, I got the dining chairs from the Habitat for Humanity Restore and they are much better: no cushions, no crossbars to break, etc.
