All that being said I don't know about if a salt hot tub is better per se, I know it's better for your skin and I'd say perhaps if you're in a very health conscious area like Joshua Tree, some folks might be attracted to the idea of a salt water hot tub.

If you are budget conscious and keep track of your expenses, it will not add any value and can even be riskier and more expensive as the rate arbitrage between HELOC and mortgage is not in your favor.Sorry, but I don't know how to make it any clearer, so maybe pictures will help. :) As you can see from my amortization schedule as of January I should be at a balance of $287K and as you can see from my corresponding statement I'm at a balance of $229K.
