I am new to the real estate investing game but it is my hope to close on my first deal this year.

I'm a professional musician and have dreamed of being in the real estate game for many years while I read books and listed to pods on the subject.

As a Michigan native, I love my Lions, Tigers and Pistons, I train as a boxer, enjoy discovering new local restaurants in my area, and going to local events wether to network or just sit back and watch the game. 

I’ve read Kiyosaki’s books, too, and they completely shifted the way I think about money and investing—such a game changer.

Real estate is a long game, so maybe you do not have the rental rate you want right now, but trust me, the market will level out, and you will eventually reach a point where you are cash flowing.

Lenders want to protect their investment not because of possibly you but your profile (little equity / assets etc) which is common for someone in their early 20's - want to make sure skin in game.

The mindset is the most important thing in real estate investment.Every problem has a solution, this mindset shift helped me stay in the game for a long time.

I am also the sole provider of a family of five, which has really prevented me from jumping in the real estate game. 

So I am here on Bigger Pockets now and looking forward to learning a ton about this game.
