Its a great idea, but you will need to consult the township in order to understand their requirements for liveable space.

It's a good idea to consult with a real estate attorney to ensure everything is legally binding and clear to avoid future disputes.

Insurance-  we were assigned an insurance consultant.  

We have helped a ton of clients with the process here in Chicago..just be sure to find a team (Agent, Lender, HUD Consultant, and General Contractor) that has done these renovation loans in the past!
