Unfortunately Good Cause Eviction passed last night in the city of Rochester, NY.I want to thank Council Members Lashay Harris and Michael Patterson for doing the right thing and voting “NO” on this largely performative legislation…that will only TEMPORARILY protect a small handful of city residents living in EXTREME under market rental units…But it will have broad and adverse negative consequences for the WHOLE community.

The neighbors complaining about the smell should have thought of that before they voted for it. 

The triplex we bought was fully occupied so we did 1 unit at a time as they moved out.0 Vote  That's great - Are you going to continue with cosmetic rehabs or dive into something that needs a little mjore TLC?

It's also important to note that because much of the Italian citizens that are there and can vote are in the older demographic, much of the laws and policies are to keep them happy, which means less development and growth.

I’m biased, but I’ll chime in with @James Wachob and cast my vote for Memphis.Memphis offers incredible logistical advantages: the largest commercial airport in the world, all major US railroads converging here, and a thriving distribution hub.

Apparently that doesn't disqualify you to be president though and unfortunately there is no IQ test to vote, maybe more people should get into politics.I was in Lowe's yesterday picking up a blind for a rental house I just finished and leased.  

More so, bills are not necessarily voted by party lines.
