There is another community near Destin that is also built for STRs - nothing as fancy as M'Ville - but my experience is that when developers build SOLELY for STR, they expect to manage and get a % of the action.

With so many expats calling it home, I was wondering why it does not show up in the preferred destinations for investment in Mexico.

There are people renting all year round in all of the main Mexican tourist destinations and this is probably going to accelerate with the growth of the work from anywhere crowd.

Unless your location is in the middle of a 200+ miles commute between two destinations and very close to dining/entertainment, I’m guessing you’d have to offer it as a draw to bring people to your location. 99% of in-town people won’t NEED to charge but would charge if it was free.

He has a large destination travel trailer that he would like used, and since we co-host thought we could manage it for him.

Here in the Destin/Miramar Beach area, STRs closer to the beach or south of Highway 98 perform better than those farther away in the city areas.

I am familiar with Houfy, however our property is not in a destination location and there aren't currently any other listings on houfy in our general area, so I'm not sure how effect it would be in this market. 

Have a property in a popular vacation destination, 7 BR / 5.5 BA / 4000 sqft. 

I personally love this market because it's a vacation destination, has a large Federal Law Enforcement Training Center that brings in lots of renters and also is growing fast due to the number of people relocating here from the NE and West coast.
