if you got into trouble a good lawyer can make the argument that they were given the new lease, given notice, they acknowledged receiving it so if you needed to enforce something from the new lease it is a possibility.With them on month to month and paid through end of year I would let it go and give 30 day Dec 1 if they still refuse.
