And even within REITs, while most people think publicly traded, you can also get into Private REITs, non-traded REITs, etc.  

However cash is a hard no for me because I feel having it around and transporting it provides a security risk for me.

Anything from public datasets to premium tools or software would be helpful!

No big, national, publicly traded banks will do this loan type.

I imagine they get their clients by referral, I mean I would'nt want the public applying through some website that's for sure.

If it's made publicly available, understand that most investors have already passed on it.
