I understand where you coming from Jd but image a fixer upper for like 10 15k but might need like 10k of work would you consider that a better deal in contrast to a mortgage for 40-50k basing this off if locations was different but similar

Although, the United State has a stable economic in contrast to what we have in my country which gives investors the opportunity to take some investing risk.

If you know what your husband currently invests in...it might be a good idea to learn a little about that so that you can make compare/contrast statements every now and then...so he can understand REI (real estate investing) based off his current knowledge of investing in general.

In contrast, if they work with serious retail buyers, they are often writing more realistic offers on larger-ticket, pretty homes.
