I currently own a portfolio of self storage facilities in my county but I'd like to invest outside of my area.

Buy a cheap pair of decent basketball shoes and a ball. 

There's a lot of investors who are in Arron's shoes and don't share the struggles  they face while selling their lower tier inventory.

In my case, I have residential rentals in one LLC, commercial properties in another, self storage in a third, and my real estate company operates in a fourth.

My agent refused to take her shoes off because of the smell.

Curious if anyone has experience investing in any storage facility syndication with Spartan and if they would recommend them?

I am replacing the balances and pivot shoe locks. 

And I have a 7 figure portfolio invested in both direct real estate (via residential rentals) and syndication/crowdfunding passive investments (because I feel both have their strengths and weaknesses and I want both in my portfolio).To backup a second: You can find virtually every type of real-estate investment strategy ( core, core plus, value-added , opportunistic) and asset type ( multifamily , self storage, office, mobile home parks etc.) via syndication/crowdfunding.

@Kevin V. if I were in your shoes I would fix up the Carlsbad house and keep it as a short term rental that would still give you the freedom to use the property and keep it in the family while maximizing the rents you could get.
