Yes I did.An employee of mine at Microsoft went back to law school at Harvard after getting a 3.35 at Stanford (Engineering).Unless you consider my recommendation to be a "political or social connection," it's clear that someone can get in with those grades.

The value is in the company assets.If you mean a software company, like Microsoft or Google, the "value" of the company is driven by its income (much like the value of the rental properties) AND its potential for growth.
