Not useful for that, but it is useful for cash flow when you take advantage of the 12-24 month 0% financing promos available.

Just did a large ceramic tile order at Lowes, got $20 delivery and the pro desk gave a huge discount - then I got the 10% veterans discount on top of that with 24 months 0% interest promo.  

They send out promos on holidays or when leases are almost up, etc, and say "if you buy with me, tear up your lease for free!"

I have one through Huntington on my rental also....great rate and there were no fees to open...even got. 2.9 promo rate for 6 months

@John Mathewson Occasionally my card companies will send me those blank checks that are tied to your credit limit with promo rates such as 0% for 18 months.
