I think the big industry for Detroit will be technology and innovation mostly automobile related however I see that spreading into other industries as well.

Getting down to the reasoning behind it, why would a flashy automobile matter?

It's not an annual election that you "figure out" every year like electing to use mileage vs. actual for automobile expenses or electing to not take bonus depreciation.  

They could not afford new tires for the family automobile or pay the deductible to patch the roof after a hailstorm.Thus, since many in the U.S. cannot create or follow a budget, it is wiser for the lender to embrace fixed interest rate loans.As for buying down interest rates ...I did not take the time to read all of the posts in this thread, but before I would determine the time value of money before buying down an interest rate.
