They tax side hustles as though you were professional but do not allow the advantage of being classified a professional when it should be able to be to your advantage (note I am not against setting qualification to be a RE professional; I am against one of those rules stipulating that it has to be your work hours greater than other jobs).

What I've found out from the county is that a property(which mine is)must be classified within an open USE zoning district and their definition of a short term rental is posted below.The ordinance defines a short term rental as follows: Vacation rental means no more than two single family homes with a combined total of no more than 9,000 square feet gross floor area which are rented for two (2) days or more to tourists, vacationers, or similar transients.

Doors per person depends greatly on the ability of the person and the type of door (apartment that has clustered doors vs SFR's all over town.I don't think you can classify income potential on a per door basis as it will again greatly vary depending on the door.It is a 24/7 type of business, even in the middle of the night.Good luck!!!!
