Regarding to ask the employment reference about how much the applicant earned, thought this was sensitive information that the person might not know or not appropriate to share. 

Helps me to understand where the sponsor is making assumptions and then I can play with those assumptions to see how sensitive it is. 

Of course, this is a sensitive subject and she has every right to voice her feelings on the matter.
