Especially important to see it *in person* when repairs or construction is happening because a lot of issues just can't be satisfactorily seen via facetime/zoom.Second best would be to have somebody you absolutely trust who has construction knowledge (a home inspector friend or equivalent) go on your behalf.

When you do the math the difference in some of these property tax rates while still far under many other cities/states in this country can add an equivalent of a monthly HOA fee to your piti payment that never goes away.Good luck
