I have visited a couple times and love the country, and I am super interested in the 1 Euro properties for renovation and restoration.

I remember form my clasic car restoration days that we wouln't touch cars coming from Florida since they were doomed to fall apart, it was just a matter of time.

And if she isn't really hurt they'll realize they're committing fraud for a false claim...it sounds like they were just upset and making "in the moment" requests.My take on this situation:  1) Don't Panic2) Get insurance involved right away (I bet it ends right there)3) Fix the cabinets and anything else not secure or up to code in the house4) Don't renew the lease and get the tenants out of there5) Rent to new great tenants and restore peace of mind***also just a quick note.....  

I also like the cottage communities by Ross Chapin My thinking is that in many areas of CA where crime is out of control, etc. restoring a sense of community, with interaction among neighbors, safe areas for kids, etc. makes sense.

That is just a bad situation tenants are not authorized to arrange for unauthorized repairs.Also I am not totally sure on a short sale but normally if the garage door falls and shatters the windows before you close then you either have the seller restored the property to the condition it was at the time you made an offer or you negotiate the price to reflect you receiving damaged property.

I am assuming the power will not be restored in time for me to have the property inspected 100% and I don’t know how I feel about that, given what I saw at the panel and knowing that it’s not up to code.

However, most home seekers aren't looking for a project - they're looking for a move-in ready home requiring little, if any, modification or restoration.
