The only way the math in your example works is the sale of a paid off property. 2) you can ask the original expert @Dave Foster but your first example seems a little too much like tax fraud to save $750 in taxes when you’re already facing much more.

Ask @Dave Foster for the definitive answer but my GUESS would be it sounds good because the seller is reinvesting all the equity (because you’re putting up so much cash.) as long as they qualify for another loan.The possible no comes from is the property considered sold when they still hold the loan, probably?
