Hello everybody, My partner and I reside in  Brooklyn, NY.

Our biggest challenge has been the fact that we live and work in New York City, and have been looking in Brooklyn, Queens, and on Long Island where the price of entry into the market here is so extreme.

I live in Brooklyn, NY, but invest in my hometown of Little Rock, AR.  

I work for Coldwell Banker in Brooklyn New York, I have to pay a fee every month just to work, it adds up over time, they also take a 70/30 split until i make over $30k.

I have owned duplexes in the greater Cleveland area since 2014 (mainly in Old Brooklyn, Shaker and Garfield Heights) and I have really been hurt by the fact that the vacancy rate has been ~35% on average (I am including the months where tenants would live in the property without paying).

I have a friend that went through this type of scenario in Brooklyn due to the tenant friendly court system, every time the tenant would cure on the final day at the last minute.

Also the sprawl of NYC just keeps getting bigger, 15 years ago Brooklyn was the hood, now its more expensive than anyone would have imagined.
