New properties tend to sell at a slight premium to 10 year old buildings, but that's because everything is new, you get to pick colors and finishes to customize it to your taste.

I do not supply curtain rods or anything else that is dependent on an individual tenant's taste.  

I'll be going neutral gray on all of my units from here out.Definitely a little dark for my taste, but if you're getting them rented ASAP, clearly it works for the people that matter!

I think you will find most single bedroom renters will be college students and from out of town and they don't like the dorms.Yes,I believe the rooms should be furnished tastefully and not too expensive to replace if they got broken.

When they get a taste of their own medicine, they start to understand.Make certain you do interrogatories during the case.  

I've seen a lot of things done in bad taste that are hiding things that are even worse.

This why they do not recommend you repair a property with your own tastes, as your taste may not be (and usually isn't) universal.Trying to understand all of this component by component is the wrong approach.

Seen some people do it.but too heavy for my taste! 

@Robert KoughThings to consider here:1) Ultimately the lack of up keep on your home is the reason she has to pay more. 2) She probably has no where near enough to cover the bill comfortably.3) If you make her pay the whole bill it will more than likely leave a bad taste in her mouth and she will probably move out when the lease is up.
