New properties tend to sell at a slight premium to 10 year old buildings, but that's because everything is new, you get to pick colors and finishes to customize it to your taste. 

But there is no accounting for taste in some cases.

I think you will find most single bedroom renters will be college students and from out of town and they don't like the dorms.Yes,I believe the rooms should be furnished tastefully and not too expensive to replace if they got broken.

Lose cute little tables and do very little pictures they will decorate to taste if they are there for months.  

I would probably start out managing them myself just to get a taste, but then eventually outsource to a property management company.

I'll be going neutral gray on all of my units from here out.Definitely a little dark for my taste, but if you're getting them rented ASAP, clearly it works for the people that matter!

My attorney realized it wasn't worth pursuing, but it still left a bad taste in my mouth.
