in addition on the west coast we just don't really have zombie or boarded up houses.. at least not like other areas of the country we have a shortage of actual housing units.

They aren't that expensive depending on the style and design of the kitchen.So locally here in Western WA there are always companies closing out slabs of granite or quartz really cheap.

I am also considering the coast, maybe a STR.

However the town is fighting it and half the town prefer it to stay an idyllic river getaway in the Western Catskills which I understand . 

I'm in the Western White Mountain Region in New Hampshire if you decide to do stuff up here, I know enough about STR to be dangerous
