Egress windows are big enough so someone can climb out and there needs to be a ladder up in the window well.

All the usual creditor protections are thrown out the window depending on which BK court has jurisdiction.  

But larger repair items such as appliances and mechanical, plumbing, electrical, roof windows doors etc should still fall under the landlord's responsibility.
