Plumbing needs a lot of work, electrical has been updated but still has some knob & tube wiring. 

This includes some professional labor for the roof, siding and electrical(whole house- has some knob and tube, minimal outlets, needs hardwired fire alarms). 

Alabama has somewhat unique laws with tax deeds.Denise Evans knows this stuff cold, I can’t tag her....I believe she does have some you tube stuff on this, should be easy to find, or do a colleague request to her....she is Very helpful to newbies at this. 

While the property doesn’t need any repairs, I’d like to repaint the walls, get rid of the tube TVs, and other minor interior updates.I’d be able to take a month off of work about 7 months from now, which would be an ideal time to buy it.

If not, you should do that next time.There are things that are not apparent from a walk through such as roof issues and other things that should have put up a red flag to the agent right away (knob & tube wiring, stairs without railings, broken walkways, etc.).
