Far too many get stuck in the "paralysis by analysis" stage, thinking they just don't know enough to get started.

Before listing it, I had lots of expenses, including painting, floor refinishing, plumbing repairs, staging, cleaning, etc.In a 1031 exchange, I purchased two small multifamily homes which also have some roof work, painting, plumbing, etc. 

maybe only be extra $40,000 to build open loft... and I would guess I could possibly charge $2000/mo rent, not sure>>***I was kinda crunching numbers...if I'm estimating it correctly it will take me over 4.5 to 6.5 years in excess rent to make up the cost of building the private loft.....does that seem worth the extra loft cost?

California charges a minimum tax of $800 a year per LLC, and more if you have gross receipts in excess of $250k.

Not sure where your STR is located, but you might want to look into local STR management companies that also offer staging services.

Beyond that, any excess cash I have will either go into investments or into savings for a down payment on my next property that I can house hack again.

However, excessive shifting could indicate that the opener isn’t secured tightly or aligned correctly.

I know as the Lender, I always have the option to modify things but the NoD helps set the stage if the borrower doesn't act or respond in a way I feel is beneficial to getting the project across the finish line and me my capital back.     

We financed this deal using a conventional loan, and taking portions of my 401K out to make the down payment and stage the house for STR and MTR.

Saugatuck city has just instituted a cap on STR yet it is in the infancy stage.
