Ah well, a lesson to pass down to my children, I suppose.Selling this property as it is transitioning out of being an owner occ makes sense though. 

Not subletting it out or their children aren’t staying there instead.

However, the management of tenants are more and possibility of conflicts could be higher.As for renting the whole house, rents would definitely be lower, since not many household or single individuals can afford paying for the whole house, so most likely you will be attracting a family with children.

I'd really appreciate feedback with regard to whether I should move forward with investing in real estate, or to let the desire go for the time being: I'm 34-years old, married, have 2-children under the age of two, own a home, and have a stable and good paying job.

Children buying a primary home for a parent is a great program.  5% down and renting 1 room out will obviously not cash flow well.  

So now, like spoiled children, when things return to "a life more normal" were all wailing how "HIGH" the cost of $ is.
