The home inspector is inspecting and testing thousands of items during the inspection, not all deficiencies are detectable in a short amount of time, no home inspection is completely exhaustive.

People should have enough cash reserves to take care of themselves and their family if they loose their job and should have reserves built into an investment to withstand negative cash flow for a period of time.

I will exhaust all other options before taking this approach.

The vent pipe could be blocked and that could be causing the exhaust air from below you to exit in your bathroom instead of out through the roof vent.
