I would say it's required, and you have to be listed as someone who gets notified if their insurance lapses, and if it does, you can give them a notice to cure or quit.

Here in Oregon I gave her a 10 day notice of violation and if she is still in violation for the "Pet" I can give her 10 day notice without the right to cure!
