There could be lucrative roles in your company that can still furnish you with the income you need but give you the skills that translate directly to RE investing. 

Translation- me, as a wholesaler, would be required to purchase the property with my own money and then sell it to the end buyer/rehabber.

If you want data, seriously.. find it, it is there... again do a search for "we buy houses in..." and you said it yourself.. all IC sites on top, yet some of you  translate that into a bad thing !?!?! 

Not meaning to be disrespectful or anything, just that your success from Craigslist is probably not going to translate well for the bulk of the users.

So an individual investor would invest and own a hotel room (different prices for different types, minimum 100k CAD) and your amount of investment translates into shares.

It seems like a great Airbnb potential plus a great vacation home for me.I feel confident with overcoming the barrier that I see so far: language (I have minor proficiency and can get a translator), finding a trustworthy local rep to help me (tips would be welcomed on how to do this but my plan would be to use my personal network), navigating local laws (google and lawyers). 

The high humidity level is a magnate for termites, and the constant ground shifting from floods translate to foundation problems.

One company’s issues don’t translate into troubles for the entire industry.We are still seeing low inventory and low interest rates - both of these are main indicators for where the market is heading.

I want to be able to translate those skills and talents into this new venture.  

There's also the strength of the rental market which translates into how long your property remains vacant between tenants.
