I’d prefer less outsourcing on behalf of the banks and fewer web portals/ apps/ servicing companies because in my experience the more entities involved the more glitches, so adding a VA and another layer of software to the mix doesn’t sound inviting.

Instead of having to enter personal info and upload an image of your driver's license for each Reporting Company, the Individual FinCEN ID allows you to input your personal data once and then link the Individual ID to your various Reporting Companies. 

PROS of a Solo 401(k) with no Custodian: 1) Freedom of checkbook control, ability to more easily move funds in and out of a bank account in the name of the Solo 401(k). 2) In some cases, lower fees. 3) Ability to more easily link your Solo 401(k) to bank account systems like rental property management systems, or if investing in real estate syndication platforms.

I get an email alert each time a deposit is made.I prefer not to use any third-party vendors (Zelle, etc.) because firstly, that creates another link in the chain that can break down between the tenant's deposit and my bank account.

If we bite off people’s heads when they admit disaster, it suppresses legitimate issues with these techniques.Just for context there is a lot of history with the OP and some of us on here going back years (like the thread I linked to above from about a year ago and several others if you use the search function with his name) with him minimizing the risks of how he was structuring these transactions and some of us being cautionary, warning him that exactly what happened here could happen, which made him defensive and dismissive.
