You’d think of all the bought off suits they would propose a bill for Airbnbs liability as an “umbrella” STR license and hosts would have an apportioned amount withheld through individual earnings to operate under that license.

Tax benefits with or without an LLC are effectively the same.The best protection starts with 1) ensuring your property is in good condition 2) following the law 3) having good insurance, possibly including an umbrella.

Many people claim you need one for risk mitigation, but you can get an umbrella policy on your homeowners insurance and mandate your tenants get renter's insurance with you included as an interest or insured to help mitigate this.
